The Tampa Bay Area's Science Network

FIRST Tech Challenge Team Duct Tape, a high school level robotics team has openings for four new students this fall. You can learn about the team at www.TeamDuctTape.com . It's a
community based team, comprised of public, private and homeschooled high school aged students (14-18 yrs.)  from the Odessa (Pasco/NW Hillsborough) area.

We're one of the top teams in the state, winning awards at the FL State Championship two years in a row and just back from being one of three Florida teams competing in the FIRST World Championship in Atlanta this past April. We're kicking off our third season in August, and invite interested students to check out our website and consider applying to be a team member.

We'd especially love to have some girls on board. No previous experience necessary, just an interest in science, math, engineering or technology. FIRST offers millions of dollars in scholarships to participating students each year.

While the time committment can be significant -- 4-8 hours per week depending on competition schedules -- the return on the investment is considerable: We do a lot of community outreach, dozens of field trips to area engineering firms and tech businesses, work with a lot of professionals in a variety of fields ranging from engineering to graphic design to business management.  We also eat well and have a lot of fun!

Please pass this along to anyone you think might be interested, and visit our website or drop us a line at info@learningis4everyone.org to learn more.

Thanks!
